A meeting of the Open Spaces and Allotments Committee will take place on Wednesday 17 June 2026 at 7 pm in the Town Hall.

1. NOTICE OF MEETING

Public notice of the meeting has been given in accordance with Schedule 12, paragraph 10(2) of the Local Government Act 1972.

A Meeting of the Open Spaces and Allotments Committee was held in the Town Hall, Stokesley on Wednesday 17 June 2026 commencing at 7 pm

RESOLVED that the public notice of the meeting had been provided in accordance with Schedule 12, paragraph 10(2) of the Local Government Act 1972.

RESOLVED to accept apologies from Cllr David Cook and Sean Speight

6/17/06/2026 REVIEW TERMS OF REFERENCE

RESOLVED to accept the terms of reference

7/17/06/26 MINUTES OF THE OPEN SPACES MEETING HELD ON 22 OCTOBER

2025

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on 22 October 2025 were agreed as a true record.

8/17/06/26 ALLOTMENTS

  • i. RESOLVED that allotment judging will take place over the weekend of 18/19 July 2026

  • ii. RESOLVED that the Cllrs Craster and Yuille to review and discuss untidy plots.

9/17/06/26 OPEN SPACES

  • i. Grass cutting Contract – RESOLVED that the grass cutting continues to be satisfactory but missed areas to be addressed.

  • ii. Hedge Service Level Agreement – RESOLVED that a quote be obtained to add Jackson Drive hedge onto the agreement.

  • iii. Tree Contract and maintenance programme – RESOLVED that members would like to see monthly reports of the work carried out in the monthly maintenance contract.

  • iv. Fairfield Road Old Play Area – RESOLVED that Cllrs Griffith and Yuille will take lead of the project and make a proposal to the full council at the next meeting.

  • v. Trees on Copsewood walk – RESOLVED to replace the smaller trees with established Cherry Blossom trees. It was noted that the trees will need continuous maintenance until they are fully established.

  • vi. Replacement trees - RESOLVED that the two trees which have been removed / died on Levenside be replaced with established Rowan Trees.

  • vii. Hedge on Jackson Drive – RESOLVED to accept the quote to cut the hedge down to 3 meters high. To be taken to the full council for approval.

10/17/06/26 PLAYPARKS

  • i. New playpark equipment – RESOLVED to consider the installation of new accessible equipment. Cllr Craster to look at funding.
