Council Meetings

Your council meetings are open to everyone — here’s how to take part

Monthly Town Council Meetings

Stokesley Town Council meets on the second Tuesday of every month at the Town Hall. All meetings are open to the public, and we actively welcome residents to attend.

Public Forum – 7:00pm to 7:15pm Each meeting opens with a public forum where residents can raise items, ask questions, or provide evidence on agenda items. Speakers are welcome to contribute for up to 3 minutes each.

Can’t make it in person? You can also submit questions in advance by email: contact@stokesleytowncouncil.gov.uk

Extraordinary meetings may be called when required and will be advertised on this website.

In addition, an Annual Town Council meeting takes place each year in April which allows Electors an opportunity to receive a report on what the Town Council has done throughout the previous year and to raise any questions.

Committee Meetings

The Town Council’s work is supported by several committees, all of which are open to the public:

  • Employment
  • Finance
  • Health & Safety
  • Open Spaces & Allotments
  • Communications & Events
  • Town Hall & Parking

Agendas and minutes for all committee meetings are available on this website or by contacting the Town Clerk.

Town Council Surgeries

Want a more informal chat with your council? Surgeries take place on the first Saturday of every month, 11:00am–12:00 noon at the Town Hall.

If you can’t attend in person, get in touch in writing:

  • Email: contact@stokesleytowncouncil.gov.uk
  • Post: Town Clerk, Town Hall, Market Place, Stokesley, North Yorkshire, TS9 5DG

Agendas & Meeting Notices

All meeting notices are issued in accordance with Schedule 12, paragraph 10(2) of the Local Government Act 1972. Agendas are circulated at least three clear days before each meeting (excluding Sundays and the day of the meeting itself) and are also displayed on the public notice board outside the Town Hall.

Minutes

Minutes of the Town Council and Town Council Committee meetings are intended to be a formal record of the acts and decisions of the council. They are not intended to be a record of the full discussions that take place.

Minutes will appear in draft form until they are formally approved at the next appropriate meeting when they will be issued as the final document.

If you require minutes from any previous years, please contact the Town Clerk to request a copy.
